This is the Textured Game-Resolution and High-Resolution models for a CNI-MU (Communication/Navigation/Identification-Management Unit)/FMS (Flight Management System) from a Lockheed-Martin C-130J Super Hercules (to include its multiple variants such as the WC-, HC-, KC-, etc) for my Portfolio 4 Week 2 Milestone at Full Sail University.
Week 1's focus was on the High-Resolution model creation and correcting any problem geometry, bad topology, etc. Week 2's focus was on creating the Game-Resolution model, as well as baking in the Normal Maps and Ambient Occlusion Maps via Substance Painter. Week 3's focus was on texturing the entire UVed model and applying microdetails to achieve realism using Adobe Substance 3D Painter. The final week's focus has been on finalizing everything to include the lighting and all Post-Processing Effects and settings to achieve the end-product.
I have gone to great lengths to ensure accuracy in scale, proportion, layout, and so forth and compared it with various images as well as my own personal knowledge of the panel from my time as Flight Crew on the C-130J in the Air Force.
The backside of the CNI-MU is left intentionally blank, as there are no images available of the CNI in maintenance (removed from the aircraft panel slot it is mounted in)- furthermore, that level of non-visible detail could also be considered a violation of the Arms Export Control Act, so no further modeling will be performed on the backside of the CNI (at least not publically and only if specifically contracted to do so legally for Mil-Sim/non-public purposes).
