Vannacutt Psychiatric Hospital for the Criminally Insane

This is my rendition of the Vannacutt Psychiatric Hospital for the Criminally Insane's basement from the 1999 film House on Haunted Hill. This project utilized a combination of originally modeled meshes I created for it, as well as multiple Megascan meshes from Quixel. Decals are also a mixture of custom decals I created combined with decals available on Quixel. The total project time for this has been just under a month from conception to completion.

Given the dark nature of the source material, I had to interpolate my own ideas into this scene to fill in the gaps, as well as brighten the scene up from its original source material, given how low the lighting is in all scenes featuring the basement from the film. Emphasis was still placed on ensuring that the lighting remained fairly dramatic and eerie throughout the environment.
